275,000 Liquid-filled iPhone Cases Recalled After Reports Of Chemical Burns

A recall of MixBin Electronics’ liquid glitter iPhone cases went into effect August 1.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, nearly 275,000 iPhone cases that contain glitter suspended in liquid are being recalled after 24 reports worldwide of skin irritation or chemical burns. 19 of the reports came from the United States.

If the case cracks or breaks, the liquid can leak out and come into contact with people’s skin, MixBin said in a statement. Customers should immediately stop using the recalled cases.

MixBin Electronics sold the cases designed for iPhone 6, 6s and 7 through Amazon, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch, Victoria’s Secret and GetMixBin.com. The plastic cases were made in China.

You can check if your phone case is affected at the company’s website.
