New York, NY. Over 250 people were in attendance at the NAVA 10th Anniversary Award Dinner this past Saturday at Richi Rich Palace in Richmond Hill, Queens. Master of Ceremony Jenifer Rajkumar got the evening started with her parent’s story of immigrating to this country and working hard to become successful.
Dr. Dilip Nath welcomed the crowd and announced that NAVA has started a Political Action Committee to support candidates who advocate for our concerns. Convener and director of the newly found PAC, Rokeya Akther, spoke about her fighting for the interests of our community. Board members started the award ceremony introducing the honorees:

The evening was filled with entertainment from singer Rahmi Khan and the American Bangali Hindu Foundation dance performances.
In attendance were Congresswoman Grace Meng, State Senator Roxanne Persaud, City Councilman Barry Grodenchik, Councilman Rory Lancman and Assemblyman Charles Levine. Representatives from Public Advocate Letitia James Office, Assemblyman David Weprin and Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman’s offices were also in attendance.
