BREAKING: Authorities: 4 confirmed dead in shooting at mall north of Seattle; suspect at large. According to the Washington State Patrol, the shooting occurred at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Wash., about 65 miles north of Seattle.
Sgt. Mark Francis of the state patrol tweeted that four people were confirmed deceased.
Authorities were searching for a suspect who was seen walking toward Interstate 5 from the mall, he said. It wasn’t immediately known if there was more than one gunman involved.
Law enforcement encouraged residents to avoid the area while the search continued and to report suspicious activity to authorities.
Francis said emergency responders were entering the mall to attend to injured people inside. It wasn’t clear how many people were hurt.
